PETA made its sentiments known on the harsh, inhumane policies that have separated families at the border.

Two billboards in California and Arizona declare the stand:

"Loving Mothers and Their Children Should Never Be Separated."

And then the phrase: "Go Vegan," followed by the PETA logo.

A picture of a cow nuzzling a young calf accompanies the copy.

PETA President Ingrid Newkirk: "It is our job to say,"No, it isn't just about one or two sets of humans; it's about a mindset. We should be against all discrimination and unfairness and the separation of any loving mothers from their infants. This is a teaching opportunity and we would be negligent to ignore it, despite any flak we may receive. Our message is just and right. We will be strong. Be unembarrassed. Be unashamed. Be on the side of justice for all."

PETA has delivered soy milk to detention centers along the border as well to aid children who suffer from lactose intolerance.

PETA VP Alka Chandna, an immigrant herself talks to host Emil Guillermo about how very personal reaction to PETA's stand.
