PETA online producer Zachary Toliver talks about his essay on the PETA blog, "Why Animal Rights Activists Must Stand Up for Black Lives," where he describes how a belief in empathy and compassion for all living things can bring about about the real social change people are clamoring for in the wake of the death of George Floyd in Minnesota.

In this conversation with Emil Guillermo, Toliver talks about how he came to veganism and to PETA. He also explains the reality of the African American experience and why he often feels his life is in jeopardy.
