PETA's First Elly Awards honors the television industry and its artists who adhere to one of PETA's core values---that animals are not ours to use for entertainment.

Lisa Lange, Sr.VP of Communications for PETA, says TV has come a long way in terms of compassionate storylines and the use of computer generated images. But the overall grade is still a B, she tells podcast host Emil Guillermo.

Still, some shows and their stars deserve to be honored like Lily Tomlin for "Frankie and Grace" on Netflix. And Ricky Gervais for his special, "Humanity."
