The news that the National Institutes of Health funded hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of experiments on dogs in a foreign country sparked outrage in U.S. media. The idea of wasteful spending on useless animal experiments has been the target of PETA for years. But now it's apparent that in the divided political environment of Washington, there's one issue that is truly bipartisan: Saving the Animals, and especially those at NIH.

PETA Sr. VP Kathy Guillermo talks about the Research Modernization Deal that could be a bipartisan answer to a cruel and ugly situation at NIH, where nearly $40 billion dollars goes to wasteful animal experiments every year.
