Mink are the only non-human animals who can contract Covid and pass it on to humans. In Utah, at least one man has died and twelve mink farms have the virus. But nothing is being done to make sure the mink don't lead the next surge in community spread. Jeremy Beckham with UARC (Utah Animal Rights Coaltion) talks to Emil Guillermo about how and why everyone should be concerned about the mink/covid issue. Beckham says a mink generated spread would create a mutation that would impact the effectiveness of the existing vaccine. He's hoping the new governor of Utah will take action to assure mink aren't allowed to breed in the spring.
