For a simple test, the forced swim test puts animals in distress needlessly. PETA's Jeremy Beckham explains that the tests do little to advance science but serves as an exercise for university researchers to get grants and enrich the university. Beckham explains to host Emil Guillermo that low cost tests like the forced swim provide a low-cost medium to do business. But the costs are high for the thousands of animals who are subjected to the tests.
